The Sultan Journey

With a history of working towards social development and having strong roots in South Punjab, we see the franchise as an opportunity to further enhance our efforts in giving back to the region. Formed in 2018, despite being the youngest franchise in the Pakistan Super League, Multan Sultans rose to the top quickly and won the title in 2021. Since then, the team has made it into every final. Multan Sultan takes great pride in its consistency on and off the field and aims to maintain it for years to come.

With a passionate fan base, cricket holds the unique ability to engage and unite people across the country. Since the arrival of PSL in Pakistan, cricket in Pakistan has reached new heights with league viewership growing rapidly over the years.

PSL in Pakistan has now become a household name, becoming the most-viewed event in Pakistan by reaching a wide range of audiences.

Keeping that in mind, at Multan Sultans, we consider our fans as our number one stakeholders, as we continue to build towards our vision.

A platform dedicated to developing high-potential young players

As part of our player development program, the Sultans Elite Squad will participate in the leading local tournaments across Pakistan. Players who rise to the top of this Elite Squad, all train for a chance to play for Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League.

Committed to provide a platform to women cricketers

At Multan Sultans, we have a firm belief that cricket can make an impact outside the playing field too. Apart from conducting camps at the Tareen Academy, Multan Sultans also organises tournaments for women to showcase their skills. In December 2023, the Elite Women’s League was conducted for the first time.

Multan Sultan is committed to providing equal opportunities to everyone, regardless of their gender and economic backgrounds. For long, the franchise has advocated for greater inclusivity in the men’s sphere and has worked to promote women’s and girls’ cricket in Pakistan.

For PSL 9, Multan Sultans have lived up to their values of providing equal opportunities to everyone – irrespective of their gender or cultural background.

Hijab Zahid’s appointment as the General Manager was a revolutionary step for Pakistan’s sports industry, as she became the first woman to be appointed as the GM of a PSL franchise team.

Besides, the highly accomplished Catherine Dalton has been appointed as the pace bowling coach, becoming the first female coach in PSL history, and the first female fast-bowling coach of a top-level men’s side.

Alex Hartley, a World Cup winner with England, has also been appointed as the spin bowling coach. The appointments align with the team’s vision of gender parity.
